A Guitar Instruction Intensive in MexicoA week long Guitar Vacation Retreat in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, includes two hours daily (for 5 days) of customized private instruction in classical and fingerstyle guitar technique and music theory for guitarists. We introduce you to our style of playing as well as to our way of thinking about music. (The idea of thinking about music at all is a new idea for many guitar players.) We also include you in our music related activities outside of class, listening to local musicians and taking in the sights and sounds of San Miguel de Allende, a picturesque and historic colonial city founded in 1546.
We, Frances and Jack, are a professional guitar
duo who perform together regularly in San Miguel de Allende. (See the

In the several years that we have been hosting Guitar Vacation Retreats,
we have worked with dozens of students, and
every Guitar Vacation Retreat has been a unique musical adventure!
In our Guitar Vacation Retreats program, we teach the tools of the trade as we practice it. Guitarists who want to play the way we do will get the most from studying with us! Please feel free to browse our site and listen to our MP3 files, and see if what we do inspires you. Even if you don't want to play exactly the way we do, you may decide that you might benefit from our perspective. We don't necessarily want you to play exactly the way we do! We would prefer to think that we may assist you in opening up your own unique creative process. For lots more information about the process, click the "what we teach" button above left. As working musicians we're busy with our own "prime directive" — creating and performing our own music — so we can accept only one or two students a month.
